New Product Improves the Efficiency and Accuracy of Complex Revenue Models
SAN JOSE, CA – February 13, 2007 — Tensoft, a leading Microsoft Gold Certified developer for Microsoft Dynamics GP™ technology customers, added a new product to its solution arsenal today with the announcement of Tensoft Revenue and Deferral Management (RDM). The new product targets technology and manufacturing firms, which often have unique challenges that complicate and impact recognition of company revenue. Designed to implement “out of the box” in less than a week, RDM streamlines business processes and provides efficient time-to-revenue recognition, using fully auditable and traceable processes.
RDM helps companies improve the efficiency and accuracy of complex revenue models, completely eliminating error-prone spreadsheets and manual processes. After implementing RDM, software companies will immediately see the benefits of revenue contract management, managed carve-outs and SOP compliance, and recurring billings. Semiconductor companies will benefit from distributor revenue management and support for ship-and-debit contracts. For technology manufacturing firms, RDM supports FOB revenue recognition delays and application of SOP standards to revenue. Still other companies can benefit from planning or phased timing of revenue recognition, as well as support for sales-related expenses, such as royalties, marketing credits and margin costs.
RDM integrates with and extends Microsoft Dynamics GP to accommodate a host of complex and changing revenue models: 1) The licensing model for software companies and similar organizations; 2) the distributor model for consumer products and component manufacturers; 3) the OEM/Royalty model for companies that sell intellectual property through licensing agreements; 4) the acceptance model for businesses where revenue is postponed, awaiting customer acceptance; and, 5) the subscription model for businesses that grant licenses, usually on an annual basis.
Customer and RDM project lead Stephen Lien, Director of Finance and U.S. Operations for ArcSoft chose Tensoft RDM after an extensive review of the available options. “As a software manufacturer, ArcSoft has very specific business management system needs, especially in the areas of revenue recognition and contracts management. Tensoft understands our needs in these areas, and was able to show us how Microsoft Dynamics GP and Tensoft Revenue and Deferral Management can help streamline our business processes, and easily align with best practices for our industry. With Tensoft, we will have much more visibility and better reporting than from our current legacy financial system, for a significantly lower Total Cost of Ownership.”
“Business today often mandates hugely complex revenue models. Whether driven by business needs, industry practices or compliance mandates, revenue recognition is a challenge for companies large and small,” said Caprice Murray, Director of Sales and Marketing of Tensoft. “RDM streamlines the revenue recognition process, addresses a host of revenue models, and facilitates revenue deferral and reporting for easy accounting close and auditability. Fully integrated with Microsoft Dynamics GP, RDM promises greater clarity, simplicity and accuracy for thousands of companies that currently manage revenue recognition manually.”
RDM is available immediately directly from Tensoft, or through other Microsoft Dynamics GP partners. The company will be demonstrating RDM, March 11-14 at Convergence 2007 in San Diego, CA, the premier annual event for Microsoft Dynamics customers and VARs.
