Community Outreach: Judging Winning Projects for the Past Five Years
SAN JOSE, CA – March 6, 2008 — Tensoft, business management systems specialists for the semiconductor, technology and software industries, brought its expertise to school last week, providing judges for a local science fair. This activity is part of Tensoft’s community service commitment to the San Jose community, where it bases its business and many its employees live and work.
The Tensoft staffers discussed and evaluated science projects individually with the student winners of the class science fair at San Jose’s Silver Oak Elementary School, which includes student science projects from grades K-6. Winners from each grade will go on to compete against other students in the district at the Evergreen School District Science Fair on March 15. “The Science Fair gives students the opportunity to investigate and present areas of scientific and mathematical inquiry,” said Silver Oak School principal Carole Schmitt.
“This is the fifth year Tensoft has provided Science Fair judges at Silver Oak Elementary School,” said Caprice Murray, Tensoft Director of Marketing and Business Development. “Tensoft has a corporate commitment to support the development of talented young people in our local community, whether their interest is in software engineering, mathematics, physics, biology, or any other field of science. This is one way our skilled professionals can make a contribution to our local community here in Silicon Valley, and to encourage future scientific discovery and a strong local economy.”
