Tensoft has customers across Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. To cater to our global customer base, we use both X12 and EDIFACT standard for transferring files from different ERP systems to Tensoft system. The major difference between X12 and EDIFACT is that X12 is widely used in United States and EDIFACT is most widely used in European and Asian countries. We have set up the EDI integrations to make it easy for Tensoft customers to use with minimal effort.
In X12 integration, the supplier sends a purchase order to Tensoft customer in the form of an EDI 850 file and in return Tensoft DemandOps users can process the order and send back the order confirmation in the form of EDI 855 and invoice confirmation in the form of EDI 810.
In EDIFACT, when a sales order comes into the system, it is called ORDERS. You can then review the sales order and issue acknowledgement – ORDRSP – by going to the Order Confirmation screen in DemandOps and clicking on Email Customer. This is similar to EDI 855. Once the shipment is finalized, you can create and finalize the invoice. It will automatically send the confirmation notification using the EDIFACT INVOIC to the supplier.
These integrations eliminate manual effort for Tensoft users and are much more efficient. For more in-depth information on how Tensoft EDI integrations work, read this blog post.
