Building on years of experience in Semiconductor industry, Tensoft has developed an industry-specific Power BI dashboard to help its customers gain more insights into their data. In this video, I’ll cover some of the key reports in this dashboard.
The following is a full transcription of the video above:
“This is our pre-built Power BI template that we offer to customers. This template includes pre-built reports that are configured to extract data out of SemiOps and DemandOps. We take that data and use the tools provided from Power BI to create these charts and tables that show information in a couple of ways that we think is helpful to our customers. If you plan on using Power BI or are already savvy with it, these reports can be altered or changed to your liking. In this demo, I’ll show some of the important reports that you may find useful.
To start, we have two reports here that pull data from DemandOps on booking data. Booking is an order and an indicator of the future revenue. Using our training company for our data source, you can see here that we have bookings or orders in DemandOps and you can see them by month to date, quarter to date, and year to date. Power BI allows you to play around with some of the data here by clicking into the charts. If you click into a field here, it’ll filter by Business, by Fiscal Quarters. If you want to put more filters on this page, you can specify it on Year and Business Name or Part Number and Business Name.
Here is another one that shows Bookings from DemandOps with more charts. This one has a quick filter for Fiscal Year, and so this is a little broader. Charts that show more quarters. We also have a goal – you can see that we have a $60 million figure out of $120 million. These are all parameters that you can set up to show that information here.
We have more reports that show Shipments, more charts that go through by Part Number. You can manipulate the data here to filter by Item Number and it’ll show you the total dollar value of shipments per item per year and so on.
We have a Billings report here that shows the invoicing done in DemandOps. There’s more detailed information in the table that’ll actually show you Ship Quantities by Order Number, as well as a Unit Price. You can see we have Invoice Dates that can also be ran through in this filter here. All that can be manipulated, and you can sort it using the columns here by earliest to the latest dates.
We have a Backlog Trend report. Backlogs are orders that have been committed. This report will show you a trend line of Backlog by Item. This report is kind of cool where we can filter it by Item Number. We can also do it by Customer, and it’ll show you a trend line of your Backlog Over Time. The Backlog report has more details in a table for your backlog, and so your commit date is actually shown here. It will also show you scheduling status for certain orders.
We also have a Margin report that will show you the gross margin pulled in from DemandOps by Order. This table here will show you multiple orders with the unit cost and the gross margin for these shipments.
Going into SemiOps, where we pull inventory data and vendor information. We have this Inventory report here that shows on-hand inventory. It pulls in the Standard Cost data, the Location Data for the inventory pulled in from SemiOps. Most executives find this report highly beneficial.
Here’s a quick Inventory Value Aging report of the stock dates of inventory that show you aging for inventory.
We have an Open PR’s (production releases) report that pulls in any open PR’s in SemiOps- what’s remaining to be received by process.
Cycle time is also pulled from SemiOps, and so cycle times by process and vendor are shown in this report. Cycle time is a measure from production release receipts. It is looking at the start time and end time of the receipt.
You have more supplementary information of the IBOM flows that are set up in currently SemiOps.
Receipt Attributes report shows Production releases and receipts by attribute set and so you can filter for them here.
These last two reports are Shipped and Backlog, and so this is your basic revenue report in DemandOps that will aggregate your backlog on top of what’s been shipped. So you can see here under status we have fulfillment assigned for things that are either shipped or things that have been committed in an order.”
